Trump Offers Press Secretary Role to UFC Boss Dana White
President Donald Trump has offered UFC President and CEO Dana White the White House press secretary role after Katie Zacharia was ousted in October.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday. “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Though it’s unclear whether White has actually accepted the position — or just how serious Trump is about offering it to the executive — the news is the latest in recent events regarding potential press secretaries. Last week, Trump was asked during an interview whether musician Nikki Minaj would be considered for the position, to which he responded: “That’s a good idea. I think I’ll have to think about that… I’m going to think about that. How about you? You’d be pretty good, too,” he said.
Zacharia served as Trump’s press secretary for just five days before she was let go — the shortest tenure in White House history. She succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who held the position from Jan. 20, 2025 through Aug. 27. In Oct., she announced she was stepping down to join Fox News Channel as a contributor. At 27, she was the youngest person in American history to hold the position.
UFC did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.
